EXOTIC CAR RENTAL MIAMI | LUXURY CAR RENTALS LOS ANGELES, NEW YORK
Since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, the 38 Express’ unique blend of style, performance and features has led this legendary Regal to become one of the most copied 38-footers in history. There are those who follow trends and those that create them. There is no question where the 38 Express stands. Just look around at all the imitators.
Access to the boat is via a swim platform and up a couple of starboard stairs. The transom is where the power and storage locker is on a standard 38, but this yacht is outfitted with the optional Euro sundeck, which has storage underneath. The sundeck is a large lounger that can be converted to two bench seats with the movable backrest, with room for three people facing fore and three more facing aft though that’s probably not a great place to sit at 40 mph.
A C-shaped settee with room for four sits under the hardtop to port of the helm station and its double helm seat with a bolster. A refreshment center comes with a sink and an optional grill. The setup is conducive to sunset drinks and hors d’oeuvres at anchor. (Regal should make that mandatory.) With storage under practically everything, there’s room for toys, towels, lines, fenders and other gear.
Down a set of cherry-wood stairs are two staterooms, a head, a salon and a galley. The 38 Express maximizes its interior space and is definitely a comfortable weekend boat for a family or the owners and another couple.
The salon sole is cherry and holly, and a cherry folding table sits in front of the starboard-situated main sofa with a recliner. The sofa converts to a sleeper. To port is the galley, complete with a refrigerator, a microwave, a two-burner electric stove and a sink. Multiple cabinets provide plenty of storage.
Aft of the salon/galley area is a mid-cabin with a U-shaped lounge that converts to another berth. A hanging locker has room for a weekend’s worth of clothes, and a privacy curtain separates the area from the rest of the boat. Regal can also create even more privacy with an optional hardwood door in place of the curtain.
All the way forward is the private master stateroom, which features a raised bed with an innerspring mattress, a hanging locker, side shelf storage and a settee that would make a great reading spot, especially given the overhead and reading lights.
